EnvisionPharmacies is a member of the EnvisionRxOptions family of companies. On Monday, EnvisionRxOptions' parent company, Rite Aid, announced the appointment of Heyward Donigan, a seasoned executive with deep leadership experience and broad healthcare expertise. She will succeed John Standley as Rite Aid’s chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Most recently, Heyward was president and chief executive officer of Sapphire Digital (formerly Vitals), which develops omnichannel platforms that help consumers choose their healthcare providers. Previously, she was president and chief executive officer of ValueOptions, then the nation’s largest independent behavioral health improvement company. Earlier in her career, Heyward served as executive vice president & chief marketing officer at multibillion-dollar insurer Premera Blue Cross, and served as senior vice president of all operations at Cigna Healthcare. She also led teams at General Electric, Empire BCBS and U.S. Healthcare, and served on several public company Boards.
Her strong background in population health, digital product orientation and continuous improvement complement that of EnvisionRxOptions' CEO, Ben Bulkley, as well as our business strategy. As a pharmacy benefit and services company that impacts the full pharmacy care experience, Envision is in a unique position to take advantage of changes in the market. With already strong clinical expertise, we are investing in new ways to improve patient outcomes, upgrading our technology and creating efficiencies in the administration of our business.
"With Heyward's partnership, we can elevate the value of our offer," said Ben. "In a market that's always looking to better control drug spend, improved integration and ways to reach patients on a local level are a requirement, not an option."
